Lastday on my wayback from Ernakulam in train,my eyes were invited to cross mark scribbled on a tree whose branches were cutdown and numbered.Later I noticed the same sign on several trees. That trees were to be cut down as a part of railway line expansion between Ernakulam and Trivandrum.
That site set a direction to my meandering thoughts....and I was a little bit disturbed after seeing it.My mind substituted that tree to a man who was sentenced to death by us for evacuating his living space for our convenient purposes and he is helplessly waiting for his execution....What a drastic situatuion????Cant u imagine???
This is our attitude..............................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to invite ur attention to another incident which took place in Australia.Australian aboriginals replanted an ancient boab tree on last sunday after it was driven thousands of kilometres to save it from destruction.A road widening scheme meant the tree, estimated to be 750 years young, had to be uprooted from its home in Northern Kimberley district of Western Australia and moved by truck 3200 Km to a park in State Capital Perth. The bottle shaped boab tree can live up to 2,000 years and it weighs 36 tonnes, stands 14 metres high and 2.5 metres in diameter. It will be in the company of 14 young boab trees.............
Thats their attitude..............................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As the title of this post says attitude makes the difference......On the long run,our attitude will pay enough for what it has done yet.......The importance of trees that we all know ......eventhough we are indulging in vandalizing our green power. Our greens are deprived of the care they are getting in other countries like Australia which is not due to the paucity of knowledge but due to the dangerous easiness we are following. These wont do any good for us I am sure.....

Being a developing country,we cant stay deaf to the crying need of new transporting facilities, since they form the catalyst of development. But what we are now following is not a good precedent .Killing trees during road widening are often justified for they avoid sharp bends...but in Kerala how many roads are void of bends???We can even see the bending of roads for bypassing the properties of ones who are having high poltical and financial strength.....Trees,We cant promise them the moon like Australians.....but we can plant a new one instead of replanting...Firstly the govt should become a model......the laws should be made powerful and the violaters should be nabbed....Letz make our future green...filled with flaura and fauna.Progress can sometimes regressive!!
